O2 Company is rolling out a package of internet-of-things (IoT) offers to encourage its business-to-business (B2B) customers in negotiating the way to make sure their employees may safely return to work at work while the Covid-19 coronavirus pandemic continues to perform.
Since the UK government continues to take action to facilitate lockdown limitations, O2 Company has partnered with IT services firm Bell Integration to make a package of IoT products which it claims will encourage companies trying to attract distant staff back to the workplace.
They comprise a thermal-imaging pill which could read an individual’s surface body temperature by a metre away. This is meant to be put together with some QR code-based contactless visitor management instrument to help businesses checking in guests or employees into their offices.
Based on O2 Company, any visitor information gleaned from this item will be kept securely and according to the General Data Protection Regulations (GDPR), also will be employed to encourage the government’s track-and-trace attempts, if necessary.
The two businesses also have invented a hand-held thermal-imaging scanner, which they assert will be accurate to 0.5 degrees, to make it easier for businesses to pinpoint individuals with elevated body temperature who might present symptoms of the coronavirus.
This technology is meant for installation within controlled environments comprising a restricted amount of individuals or regions with higher footfall, such as airports, transportation services and public spaces,” stated O2 Business.
The last addition to its portfolio would be an area management system that’s intended to encourage social distancing by tracking the amount of individuals within communal office areas using a visitors light-like system to notify people when it’s safe to put in the region, dependent on footfall.
O2 Company confirmed it had deployed the brand new visitor control system and its own thermal-imaging technology in its Bath Road headquarters in Slough, Berkshire, and it’s also being trialled at a collection of bars, restaurants and smallish companies throughout the nation.
