Raiders QB Derek Carr pokes fun at potential Redskins name change

Las Vegas Raiders quarterback Derek Carr made a joke on Twitter about a possible name change for the Washington Redskins.

For years, many sports clubs also have come under fire due to their group names. Among the groups in question was the NFL’s Washington Redskins. They’ve been under pressure from everybody from Native American groups into enormous powerful sponsors like FedEx and Nike at the previous week, to eventually change their title.

Some comical ideas came to light in regards to choosing a new name for your franchise, however, Las Vegas Raiders quarterback Derek Carr has an notion of their own.

The quarterback happened into his Twitter accounts, retweeting a post by NFL insider Adam Schefter. The tweet watched Schefter request his followers for suggestions for a new name. Carr reacted with all the Washington Sentinels, by the 2000 film The Replacements.

It was a humorous pop culture reference in the film that starred Keanu Reeves and Gene Hackman. It was not the highlight functionality of Reeves’ film career, but it was memorable in the best. His mention adds to a growing set of hints which the world wide web continues to be populating over the past couple of days.

In all seriousness, there’s a legitimate possibility that Washington may eventually change its name. A variety of media outlets have reported since many powerful groups and businesses, team owner Dan Snyder has agreed to explore changing the name. Snyder hasn’t felt the sort of pressure he’s felt lately regarding the shift.

In the meantime, folks have fun at the cost of a brand new name. When some names can not just be printed here, Derek Carr is bringing a little humor to the film. It is maintaining a lighthearted spin on matters, which is not the worst thing on the planet at this time.
