Nathan Peterman proceeds to demonstrate that he’s the best job safety in most pro sports.

The Las Vegas Raiders entered training camp with a clear quarterback controversy on their hands. Las Vegas signed Tennessee Titans sign caller Marcus Mariota into some two-year deal at the beginning of the league season, which left him the highest-paid copy in the NFL. Head coach Jon Gruden talked glowingly of Mariota at the beginning of training camp, causing many to wonder just how long before the 2015 second-overall select will be starting in place of Derek Carr. As it happens, that will not be happening anytime soon.

Mariota was formally put on the injured reserve on Monday after faking his pectoral muscle, which will keep him sidelined for at least three weeks. So, who is backing up Carr entering their Week 1 game against the Carolina Panthers? That honor will none apart from the one and only Nathan Peterman.

Further evidence that Gruden loves Nathan Peterman

Mariota endured the irreparable harm during training camp and it seriously restricted him through exercises, per NFL Media’s Ian Rapoport. He could proceed with his toes, but his arm just was not up to par with Carr’s. Actually, Vic Tafur of The Athletic stated that Mariota functioned as”no danger” to Carr, although the team signed him to a $17.6 million contract to drive Carr in training camp.

Peterman includes a little notoriety among NFL fans, but maybe not for good reasons. He had been hyped up as a NFL Draft prospect after he had been chosen by the Buffalo Bills in 2017. Peterman stepped into the spotlight a small number of occasions throughout his year-plus together with the Bills… however he neglected to make a favorable feeling. In eight games (four starts), Peterman finished 52.3 percentage of his moves 548 yards, three touchdowns and 12 interceptions.

After being discharged by Buffalo midway during the 2018 year, Peterson was signed with the Raiders, largely because of Gruden’s love of his drama throughout his school career. He shined through the 2019 preseason, because he finished 60-of-87 pass attempts 474 yards, three touchdowns and zero interceptions. But he had been set on the season-ending injured reserve with a knee injury.

If Carr were to go down with an injury, Gruden will lean on Peterman, who’s impressed the trainer via two training camps.
