Glamorgan have extended the arrangement of Australia batsman Marnus Labuschagne till 2022. Labuschagne was due to play to the county that summer, as a part of a two-year agreement, but his birth has been deferred as a result of effect of Covid-19 over this season.
Labuschagne’s notable 2019, that saw him named among Wisden‘s Cricketers of the Year, started with a spell in Glamorgan. He scored 1114 Championship runs at 65. 52 prior to being called into Australia’s Ashes squad, where he made an immediate impact after becoming Test cricket’s initial concussion replacement at Lord’s.
“It had been a simple choice to extend my contract for one more year and devote to Glamorgan and Wales long term,” Labuschagne said.
“I was gutted to not be returning to Glamorgan for the 2020 year after I adored my first year , so I am thrilled to be re-committing myself into the club to another few years.
