A mysterious balloon-like”UFO” thing has changed into a social networking sensation after being seen over Japan on Wednesday.
Kyodo News reports that the strange object was seen within northeastern Japan. Grainy images seemed to demonstrate a cross-like thing hanging beneath the item, prompting speculation it was a science experiment or a weather balloon.

But, the Japanese Meteorological Agency’s office at Sendai in Miyagi Prefecture told Kyodo News that it wasn’t flown with the bureau. Neither local authorities nor neighborhood self- protection forces understood exactly what the thing was, it included.
The flying thing generated lots of buzz on Twitter. Reuters reports that speculation ranged from UFOs to North Korean propaganda.

But ham radio operator @ai6yrham explained the thing as a high-altitude balloon. “Someone’s high altitude balloon and payload inducing more #UFO accounts (this one does not have a transponder( sadly ),” @ai6yrham tweeted.
Last month, a Japanese press report stated the nation’s Defense Agency will draw up plans for any possible experiences with UFOs. The report came after the Pentagon formally published videos of”unmanned aerial phenomena”
