You would need to say they’re heavy favorites, if this wasn’t already evident. So much from the three-match ODI series against Ireland they’ve experienced a devastating victory and a comfy one, even though the distinction between the two wasn’t really that enormous. Ireland batted first twice and produced a low-ish score, even together with England chasing down 173 indoors 24 overs for the loss of four wickets in match and 213 at 32.3 overs for the loss of six wickets in the next.
Maybe, however, the third and last match of the show in the Rose Bowl will yield a closer effect. Maybe Ireland batting , scoring 258 and England pursuing down it inside… state, 41 overs for the loss of… seven wickets? It seems somewhat odd focusing in a England ODI if the first Test against Pakistan starts tomorrow , but this is the planet we’re living in. And each of the players chosen to play in this game and the broader collection will be delighted to be back in action, undoubtedly.
It’s obviously not England’s most powerful ODI side, but with the likes of World Cup winners Eoin Morgan, Moeen Ali, Adil Rashid, Jonny Bairstow, and Jason Roy — not to mention David Willey, that just narrowly missed out to a spot in the group — it is surely not too shabby.
For Ireland, the show has been gone but there’s still an adequate chance to conquer the World Champions, as they’ve done before. The issue is that there is not much to indicate that they are going to run them near now. The throw will occur in about 30 minutes with the game beginning at 2pm. We will be here to assist you through it all by over.
