【看CP學英文】一講到火鍋,浮上腦海的畫面便是一盤盤肉類、各種蔬菜及火鍋料,讓人看得口水直流。不過在中國廣州的南崗地區,火鍋只需一種主要食材–鲮鱼。

If we think of sexy pots, the picture of stacked platters, varied components, and sweet colors constantly springs to mind. Nevertheless, in conventional Nangang markets in Guangzhou, China, hotpots are bombarded with just 1 component: Dace Fish. 

鲮鱼水餃更是南崗地區的招牌料理,薄薄的水餃皮小心翼翼地包裹著滿滿的鲮鱼碎末。有別於一般的水餃,鲮鱼水餃皮呈現三角形形狀,而鲮鱼水餃末端留著的細長尖端面皮在下水滾燙後應保有其原貌、不斷裂。

Specifically, dace dumplings are trademark dishes which embody the flexibility of dace hotpots. The dough that wraps the minced dace beef is triangular-shaped, and can finally be tucked into the dough, which makes a little tip.

The trick of this triangular-shaped dough is crucial; it creates the attractive”tail” of this dace dumplings, which shouldn’t break after ingestion.
