After refusal of ticket by Samajwadi Party at 2017 assembly surveys, Mishra had contested Nishad Party ticket and emerged successful for fourth period in Gyanpur assembly seat of Bhadohi district. According to his criminal record maintained by authorities, 71 ases were lodged against him previously while 10 instances continue to be heard in MP/MLA court, stated SP Bhadohi.
