Arms smuggler detained, two revolvers recovered | Varanasi News


Varanasi: Azamgarh authorities on Wednesday found an illegal arms production unit after arresting a smuggler from woods region of Roshanganj beneath the constraints of Raunapar police channel.
SP Azamgarh Sudhir Kumar Singh explained that the cops of Raunapar police station were carrying out a search drive from the woods nearby Roshanganj area after having a tip-off. On discovering three questionable looking youths, the cops asked them to discontinue. But they entered the sugarcane area.
The authorities gave them a chase but may detain just one while two were able to escape. Police recovered two country-made revolvers and live cartridge out of his ownership. During first interrogation, the arrested miscreant revealed they had been conducting an illegal weapon manufacturing unit at exactly the exact same field.
Cops recovered a gunny bag filled with partly fabricated state – made revolvers, furnace and instruments were found within the specialty.
The miscreant stated his group members marketed country-made revolvers for Rs two,500-Rs ,000 every later production. He had gone to prison previously in a case filed under divisions of Arms Act, said authorities.
