Vadodara: Six cops of Fatehgunj police station were reserved for premature departure of a 62-year-old Ahmedabad guy, who had been detained as a custody accused after which supposedly tortured to extract a confession, in December this past year.
The offence has been enrolled on Monday night on the afternoon when Gujarat high court had ordered the town authorities to introduce the stunt record. The sufferer Sheikh Babu Nishar’s son Salim had filed a habeas corpus petition in the high court as there was no hint of his dad since January 25 if he’d filed a missing person complaint in Sayajigunj police channel.
Nishar utilized to market bedsheets in various cities by drifting around on his bike while his son includes a supply shop in Ahmedabad’s Shah-e-Alam region. There’s not any hint of his body however.
Both cops have been recognized as PI Dharmendrasinh Gohil, PSI Dashrath Rabari and LRD jawans Pankaj Mavjibhai, Yogendrasinh Jeelansinh, Rajesh Savjibhai and Hitesh Shambhubhai. Gohil was afterwards shunted out to the visitors division and then to Ahmedabad authorities.
About December 10, Nishar along with his son-in-law Ibrahim Khan Pathan had parted out the Vadodara central bus depot to meet again after a couple of hours. When Nishar didn’t return by day, Pathan hunted for him later informed Salim. After hunting in Vadodara and Ahmedabad for more than a month, Nishar’s loved ones lodged the lost individual complaint.
Police assert the analysis was being performed by Agency SG Solanki of Sayajigunj police channel. “A day ahead of the complaint was registered on January 31, assistant commissioner of police (ACP) P H Bhesaniya alarmed me that something fishy had occurred at Fatehgunj police channel. After advising senior officials that the ACP was requested to run a confidential investigation,” said deputy commissioner of police (DCP) Deepak Meghani. Bhesaniya had obtained a whiff of it via his informers.
Meghani added two parallel probes were conducted and also in a subsequent stage, the analysis by Bhesaniya was passed over to some colleague ACP Bakul Chaudhari and of Solanki to a different ACP SG Patil. Patil, on Monday, became the complainant from both cops.
They have been reserved for culpable homicide not amounting to murder, disappearance of signs, destruction of files to stop its creation as evidence and providing false info.
