Coronavirus: Kerala revises criteria for signaling containment zones | Thiruvananthapuram News

THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: Chief Union Pinarayi Vijayan said the state government has produced changes in the standards for demarcating containment zones in Kerala.
Henceforth, containment zones will be described after tracing the secondary and primary connections of a positive individual. The containment zones wouldn’t be dispersed across a ward or a broad area but will probably be highly localised in and about the houses of those diagnosed and mapped during telephone .
Arrangements will be made for home delivery of crucial products. If that’s not feasible, the authorities or volunteers will deliver the merchandise home.
The containment zone could be a well-restricted place with restrictions on entrance and exit. The announcement of this containment zone won’t be for a specific period but will last until it’s guaranteed that the secondary and primary connections in the region are free of disease. District collectors, district police chiefs and DMOs will monitor the situation every day and make sure that regulations and limitations are implemented efficiently.
The authorities are entrusted with the task of helping the district collector and the district disaster management ability to find and indicate the containment zone in the aftermath of the virus epidemic. Police authorities will be strengthened to effectively enforce constraints on the containment zone. Violation of quarantine standards rather than keeping social distancing in public areas will be dealt with severely by the authorities.
The authorities also have been given the job of tracing and finding the main and secondary connections of people who test positive and moving them into the hospital or quarantine center, as required. The contact tracing should be performed inside 24 hours.
