Maharashtra: Hospital at Dombivli loses license over excessive billing | Thane News


THANE: The civic government on Saturday suspended the license of a hospital and stripped away its Covid-19 label for alleged lapses and violations in treatment of patients from Dombivli city of Maharashtra’s Thane district, a official.
The Kalyan Dombivli Municipal Corporation (KDMC) had received many complaints regarding irregularities in Sri Swami Samartha Multi Speciality Hospital, that had supposedly overcharged patients, KDMC PRO Madhuri Phopale explained.
The hospital was supplied a show-cause note for the surplus billing of more than Rs 6 lakh, but it didn’t respond to the note, she explained.
The KDMC stripped off the hospital of this label as a Covid- 19 treatment centre and suspended its permit till the time that it complies with all the civic body’s requests, the official stated.
