38 crore captured from abandoned truck in Thane | Thane News


THANE: Ganja worth Rs 1. 38 crore was captured on Saturday in an abandoned truck parked close to a hierarchical arrangement in Manpada region of Thane city, authorities said.
Deputy commissioner of police (Zone VI) Avinash Ambure stated the truck was situated at about 4am after a tip-off.
“We discovered corns at the vehicle initially but a comprehensive search demonstrated 691 kilograms of ganja (cannabis) worth . 38 crore under a tarpaulin. We couldn’t find anyone close to the truck. It’s likely the driver may have escaped. We’ve registered a case under NDPS Act,” that the DCP said.
Probe into the particulars of the truck, its own path history and people working the ganja smuggling system was penalized, Ambure explained.
