Surat: 2 undertrials of Bharuch sub-jail, who had been undergoing treatment in the prisoner’s ward of the hospital at Bharuch, escaped by the ventilator of the guardroom early Wednesday morning.
Arjun Jayanti Parmar (25), facing charges under the Prevention of Children from Sexual Offences (POCSO) Act for eloping with a little woman in Ankleshwar, was lodged in the Bharuch sub-jail for the offence.
He had been attracted to the hospital with the complaint of fever and other disorders on September 3.
The next absconder, Akash Sanjay Vasava (28), who’s accused in a murder case, had consumed soap and needed to be rushed to the hospital on September 5 after he complained of acute stomach pain.
Sources stated that the duo might have escaped between 3am to 4am on Wednesday morning. Both accused were in exactly the exact same area, which was guarded by a policeman. They weren’t handcuffed while at the area.
Sub-inspector of Bharuch A-division authorities, A K Bharwad stated,”The ventilator from the guardroom in which the offenders were retained had glass . There was no iron barbecue at the ventilator (3ft x 6ft), which made it simple for the offenders to escape.”
Bharwad included,”We’ve started search operation to nab the escaped prisoners and most of the police stations in the area have been alarmed. Their images have also been dispersed throughout the district.”
