Surat: With favorable instances continuing to spike every day , the Surat Municipal Corporation (SMC) on Sunday issued a telling attracting 42 private associations designated for Covid-19 therapy under its management
“”The decision has been taken following we learnt that some staff members of the private hospitals were resigning from their jobs. These associations and their employees are put under the control of SMC. Hence, they might need to abide by the principles under Epidemic Disease Act-1897 and Disaster Management Act,’` says the notification issued by SMC chief Banchhanidhi Pani.
The combined bed capacity the 42 private hospitals is approximately 1,200.
Meanwhile Surat city reported 174 new instances on Sunday, taking the entire amount to 4,345 from town. Five patients also surfaced, taking the death toll on 160. Approximately 78 patients have been discharged on Sunday.
In different fields of Surat district, 17 new cases were reported Sunday, taking the whole number of favorable instances to 493. Three patients also expired. “from this complete 493 instances from the district, 160 are at Kamrej taluka and from their complete 14 deaths, nine are out of Kamrej taluka,’` said an official. “A 45-year old guy in Velaniya village of Kamrej, 34-year old guy in Orna village and 50-year-old guy in Laksana village died of Covid-19 on Sunday,’` said an official. Together with three more deaths, the total number of deaths because of Covid-19 attained at 14 at Surat district.
SMIMER DOCS RUE SHORTAGE
Surat: Citing severe shortage of healthcare employees, the resident physicians at SMC-run SMIMER hospital have required their 10 colleagues that were deputed to the New Civil Hospital (NCH) ought to be brought back.
Junior Doctors Association’s (JDA) Dr Dhruv Variya tweeted:”We’re facing acute shortage of healthcare workers at SMIMER and no 1 maintenance (sic) about it. Bring our 10 inhabitants deputed in Civil Hospital.”
Main secretary (wellness ) Jayanti Ravi tweeting they will certainly respond to it quite soon. “Ten resident physicians and three professors from SMIMER have been changed to NCH because it had been designated as Covid-19 hospital. However, because cases began climbing, suspected Covid patients and crucial patients are admitted at SMIMER clinic also.
