PALAKKAD: Three researchers from Jharkhand were found dead close to railroad track in Kanjikode late Monday night, at a supposed instance of railway runover. The incident happened between Kanjikode and Palakkad channels around 9 to 10pm.
Both are contract employees engaged in the building work of this IIT campus in Kanjikode, function for which started barely one and half a year ago.
Palakkad district collector D Balamurli stated the three were lost since last day and their bodies located near the railroad track have been recognized.
The reason for death is yet to be ascertained.
The three employees had lately come to Palakkad, the collector told PTI.
Enraged over the episode, a few different employees had refused to hand over among their bodies to authorities and altered the stays to the campus, requiring reimbursement.
They also allegedly indulged in rioting.
It was just this morning following the district labour officer, other officials and authorities held discussions with the protesting employees, did they permit the entire body to be changed to hospital.
“The workers refused to hand over a few of their bodies, ruined a personal car and caused minor injuries to a policeman,” Palakkad SP G Siva Vikram told PTI.
The figures have been sent for post-mortem and also the specific cause of death would be knownonly following the report stems, the SP said.
Meanwhile, the Railway resources from Palakkad stated the railroad control area hadn’t advised of any runover deaths last night.
A railroad engine on monsoon monitor patrolling had abandoned the Palakkad channel . 55 pm and returned 10 pm and did locate any odd incident on both monitors, the sources stated.
A goods train carrying food grains had also crossed the monitor along with also the loco pilot had not advised about any runover episode, railways said.
