RAJKOT: State GST department discovered a bogus billing racket between 50-peculiar dealers of groundnut and its own seeds in Junagadh, Mangrol amd Dhoraji cities on Saturday.
They revealed that the dealers had issued false statements to the tune of Rs 100 crore in past two years to prevent taxation.
These dealers were supposedly supplying bills of purchase into other dealers that had been claiming input tax credit (ITC) on value addition of peanuts. The GST rate with this particular commodity is 5 percent.
The GST officials discovered that the groundnut traded amounts didn’t match the tax collected. According to sources that a few oil miller will also be included with the alleged racket.
