PUNE: The Pune Cantonment Board has made a decision to include 10 ICU beds and 40 oxygen- supported beds in the Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel Cantonment Board General hospital at the forthcoming weeks.
The board has decided in light of the rising requirement for oxygen and ICU beds.
Amit Kumar, chief executive officer, PCB, stated,”We shall offer new beds in a new construction where we’ve provided 10 ICU beds a month. Making accessible ICU and oxygen beds is our priority right now. We’ll rope in physicians and hospitals team attached to Covid care centers.” Two such centers are empty at present as many pediatric patients favor home isolation,” he said.
The cantonment now has 10 ICU beds and 80 oxygen-supported beds in the hospital. The military authorities have retained 10 ICU beds booked for Pune cantonment in the Army Institute of Cardio Thoracic Sciences (AICTS), a committed Covid gym for Pune and Khadki garrisons.
