The episode happened in F Block of Noida Sector 11 approximately 7. 30pm Friday.
NOIDA: The proprietor of an under-construction construction in Noida was detained on Saturday, a day after two people were killed following a part of the construction collapsed.
Five employees were rescued from the debris following the front part of the three-storey construction located in F of Sector 11 fell on them about 7. 30pm Friday.
Two of these, a builder and a plumber, died during therapy, while the remainder remain hospitalised, the authorities said.
“Raj Kumar Bharadwaj, approximately 65 years old, has been detained in connection with the situation. Bhardwaj is the owner of the building which houses personal company Shakti Techno Fab Products,” the district authorities said in a statement.
An FIR was lodged in the Sector 24 police station and Bharadwaj reserved under Indian Penal Code segments 338 (causing grievous harm by act endangering life or personal safety of other people ), 304 (culpable homicide not amounting to murder) among others, ” stated.
Further proceedings in the event are under way, the authorities said.
Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath had taken notice of this episode on Friday day and led Police Commissioner Alok Singh to get to the place to guarantee relief and rescue work.
Large variety of police employees together with fire department officials, the National Disaster Response Force and ambulances had reached the place and began a rescue operation.
Teams of Noida Authority along with the district government also inspected the website. The precise reason for the collapse was to be discovered, officials explained.
Prima facie, a few solar panel setup work on the ground floor of this building may have resulted in the collapse, the officials added.
