Covid positivity rate in Ghaziabad, Noida finds steep increase in the past week of August | Noida News


GHAZIABAD: In aftermath of the climbing Covid-19 instances, Meerut divisional commissioner Anita C Meshram has requested administrative and health officials of six districts of this division, such as Ghaziabad and GB Nagar, to intensify surveillance, testing and contact number of patients.
The letter comes after the test positivity rate in Ghaziabad, GB Nagar and Meerut districts enrolled a steep growth in the past week of August.
As stated by the commissioner’s letter, while 9,205 cases were reported at the branch in July, it climbed to 9,746 in August. But, there wasn’t much difference from the instances positivity rate for its branch in the 2 months that stood at 2.5 percent, except for Meerut, that filed an increase in the positivity rate from 1.6percent in July to 2.7percent in August.
For Ghaziabad, the positivity rates for July and August were enrolled . 993 and %. 68percent respectively. Similarly, GB Nagar revealed a marginal dip out of 3. 66percent in July to 3. 31percent in August respectively.
The letter also revealed that of this overall 3,392 Covid instances reported in August at Ghaziabad, 1,002 cases were reported in the past week of August (August 25 on August 31 and the positivity rate for the interval was 4. 56%. )
At 6. 08 percent, the positivity rate for GB Nagar for the corresponding period was higher. The district enrolled 748 cases in the past week of August, while as many as two,966 cases were reported in the whole month. For the whole branch, the positivity rate stood . 23percent for August’s previous week. The letter reads,”The trend indicates that there was a substantial growth in fresh Covid instances from the branch, particularly in Ghaziabad, GB Nagar and Meerut in the past week of August. So there’s a need to strengthen surveillance, contact tracing and analyzing in most districts.”
In Ghaziabad, the trend is ongoing in September too. Until Wednesday, more than 1,500 cases were reported at the district and in accordance with health officials, 83percent of those cases are reported in seven regions of Ghaziabad, such as Kavi Nagar (293), Indirapuram (271), Sihani Gate (201) and Vijay Nagar (123), amongst others. District magistrate Ajay Shankar Pandey has also led the health department to do it according to government directives. A senior doctor stated that on a typical nine connections of a favorable individual have been identified previous month. “Aside from surveillance actions, we’re attempting to generate awareness among people about social distancing and wearing masks” The official added.
