NAGPUR: Five employees were killed in a boiler explosion in Manas Agro Industries and Infrastructure Ltd in Maharashtra’s Nagpur district on Saturday afternoon, the authorities said.
The incident happened near a biogas plant of the business in Bela village at Umred tehsil around two. 15 pm.
The dead had been identified as Mangesh Prabhakar Naukarkar (21), Liladhar Wamanrao Shende (42), Vasudeo Ladi (30), Sachin Prakash Waghmare (24) and also Prafull Pandurang Moon (25), all inhabitants of Wadgaon village.
Sachin Waghmare was employed as a welder while some have been helpers, the authorities said.
Thick smoke billowed from the plant after the explosion.
All five employees sustained grievous burn injuries and died on the place, the authorities said.
Superintendent of authorities Rakesh Ola visited the area following the incident, officials said.
