Cut down waiting period for DL evaluations: RTOs advised | Nagpur News


Nagpur: The country transportation commissioner Avinash Dhakne has requested all RTOs and deputy RTOs to grow the slots of the student’s and permanent driving license tests.
In a letter sent Wednesday, Dhakne requested them to run the evaluations on Saturdays and Sundays to finish the waiting period for the evaluations.
After the new diktat, transport department offices at hotspot cities such as Aurangabad, Nagpur, Pune etc have voiced concern given the neighborhood spread of coronavirus. Most debilitating will be resuming the evaluations at full capability. TOI attempted to contact town RTO Dinkar Manwar, however he wasn’t available for comments.
After the lockdown was enforced in March, the section had briefly closed operations of LL and PDL tests. It declared tests in June-end following almost 3 weeks of inactivity. After then transportation commissioner Shekhar Channe’s directives, most of the RTO offices throughout the nation had reduced the evaluation capability to nearly 50 percent.
Offices in Aurangabad, Nagpur and Pune also had concentrated more on student’s license test while adhering to Covid safety steps.
A senior official from Mumbai clarified Dhakne’s directions awarded the above a month’s waiting period for both LL and PDL evaluations. According to Dhakne’s directions, all of the offices are advised to decrease the waiting period to two or 2 days.
“With fresh arrangement of restarting the previous quotas for driving evaluations increase hurry into the offices. In that situation, it is going to be a daunting task for the division to handle hurry,” admitted a senior official requesting anonymity.
Each of the offices had rescheduled the prior slot bookings from the candidates. The new diktat is not only going to want the offices to boost personal computer places, but also need additional manpower. “Currently, all of the three offices are running LL evaluations with the assistance of one helper automobile inspector. If it raises slots, all of the offices need to boost the current system besides necessity of a more AMVIs for every workplace,” said a source.
