MANDYA: Three times following three priests of Arakeshwara temple had been discovered murdered, Mandya authorities shot and detained three men when they attempted to strike a group of cops from the district Maddur taluk, roughly 80kilometers from Bengaluru, on Monday morning.
The arrests came hours after authorities nabbed their accomplices – Abhijit and Raghu, equally 22 – from Gamanahalli village in the area. Police tracked the gang down in 72 hours of this offense depending on the barcodes of spirits bottles located at the temple courtyard, CCTV footage from a neighborhood wine store and telephone records of their suspects.
The detained duo led the cops into Borapura gate bus rack in Sadolalu village in which another detained – Viji, Manja and Gandhi, all in mid-twenties – were also sleeping. The three-member police group headed by sub-inspector Sharat cornered the trio around 5. 30am and guided them to concede.
The accused attempted to flee and assaulted the police employees with stones and weapons. Cops claimed they started fire at self-defence and taken the accused within their leg. The injured detained were detained and shifted into Mandya Institute of Medical Sciences (MIMS). SI Sharat and constables Anil Kumar and Krishnakumar, who suffered stab injuries, are also being handled in MIMS.
“The 10-penis gang divide and decided to go in different directions after murdering the priests. We’ve nabbed five so much and five will be arrested shortly. We’ve regained. 75 lakh in the detained persons,” police said.
Culprits had abandoned spirits bottles in crime scene
Based on authorities, Viji hails from Andhra Pradesh, Manja and Gandhi are in Toppanahalli and Arekaldoddi villages in Maddur taluk.
“We’re not able to hear gunshots. We never anticipated that killers of 3 priests could be hiding within our area,” a Sadolalu villager said.
“Following the murders from the temple, we discovered the offenders had abandoned liquor bottles in the crime scene. We discovered the liquor store employing the barcodes on the bottles. We identified the accused after assessing the CCTV cameras at the store. We analyzed the telephone data records from the temple area on the day that the priests were killed. We discovered that two amounts were busy at bizarre hours. These clues led us into the accused and also we could detain them according to scientific proof,” a senior police officer told TOI.
Team earns compliments
Superintendent of authorities Parashuram praised the group’s attempt in nabbing the detained and fulfilled with the wounded cops in MIMS.
“We’ll question the detained trio to discover about their accomplices and if they’re involved in other crimes in the field,” the SP said.
