Former MLA Guruswamy Expires of Covid | Mysuru News


Chamarajnagar: Former MLA and senior BJP leader C Guruswamy Reacted to Covid in the JSS Hospital at Mysuru on Wednesday.

He had been 68. The veteran leader has been admitted to the hospital after he contracted the virus and acquired breathing difficulties 15 weeks back. He had been on life support and breathed his last at the hospital, after not responding to therapy. He began his political journey together with the Janata Dal and afterwards joined the BJP after his mentor former minister and senior Lingayat leader M Rajashekaramurthy, who stopped Congress and moved into the saffron fold.
He had been elected to the state legislature from Chamarajnagar assembly section on a BJP ticket in 1999, denying Kannada activist Vatal Nagaraj that a hat-trick in the section.
He afterwards joined the Congress and turned into its district president for a short stint. He returned to his parent party the BJP, also was busy in celebration actions. The final rites of all Guruswamy were played at his farmhouse at Yanagalli village at Chamarajnagar taluk.
Mysuru district ministry S T Somashekhar condoled the passing of the previous MLA and recalled his gifts to strengthen the party in Chamarajnagar.
