Confusion prevails over allotment of chairs under RTE | Mysuru News


Mysuru: Countless parents and students from economically poorer and socially disadvantaged segments of society on Thursday confronted anxious moments over obtaining free chairs under RTE into LKG and Class I privately colleges .
Uncertainty loomed big together not getting any upgrade about the RTE chair allotment, which, based the revised calendar of events, was to occur on Wednesday itself. On the other hand, the Department of Public Instruction (DPI) issued a telling later in the afternoon, saying the seat-allotment procedure will occur on July 29.
As many as 11,466 kids have employed 10,478 chairs being made avaialbe as RTE chairs at private unaided schools. )
As stated by the DPI telling dated July 3, the chair allotment was scheduled for Wednesday (July 22). But as soon as the parents didn’t receive any SMS on exactly the very same, they attempted to get in touch with the RTE helpline at Bengaluru. They got anxious once the helpline didn’t respond.
“We’re advised from the DPI officials which we’ll obtain the chair allotment outcomes via SMS on Wednesday. As we did not get any SMS, we attempted to telephone the RTE helpline, however, there was no answer,” explained Mary P, a resident out of Ashokapuram here.
District-level DPI officials stated that chair allotment didn’t occur on Wednesday. “We’re awaiting the data in this respect in the head office,” stated many officials who TOI talked to.
Nagasimha G Rao, convener, RTE task force, stated that the DPI must have retained the parents . “Every one of these waited anxiously. There was no upgrade from the section (until Thursday day ),” he explained.
When contacted, DPI commissioner K G Jagadish stated the RTE chair allotment procedure didn’t occur on Wednesday because of technical factors. “We’ve rescheduled it for July 29,” he added.
