MUMBAI: The Maharashtra State Electricity Distribution Company Limited (MSEDCL) officials on Friday stated that not just one power link was disconnected nor is there any danger to any user as alleged by BJP former MP Kirit Somaiya in a media conference in the day.
Somaiya alleged that the customers had obtained”bogus statements, inflated amounts, incorrect meter readings and so were jeopardized of electricity supply being disconnected if they don’t cover.”
“Individuals have abnormally substantial invoices in Mulund, Thane and Navi Mumbai of Rs 30,000 to Rs 65,000 — that can be erroneously calculated,” he alleged.
A senior MSEDCL official stated that these were baseless allegations and there wasn’t any mistake in any invoice calculation. “Besides, we’ve been sending our meter readers into the website in order to find accurate readings,” the official said, adding that there were 106 Webinars and 124 camps performed by the Bhandup branch of MSEDCL to remedy customer grievances.
Somaiya had filed a request before MERC on Wednesday, requiring free Electricity to absorb upto 100 units and 50percent concession for upto 300 units throughout Lockdown.
