MUMBAI: The Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) has reduced the present water decrease from 20percent to 10percent from Friday, since the amount of those seven lakes which provide water to the city spanned 85percent of the overall capability on Wednesday morning. Last year until the exact same date, the collective water inventory in these lakes was 94. 28%. )
The BMC had levied water reductions from town by the very first week of August since the catchment areas of the lakes received poor rain at June-July. Nevertheless, they received good rainfall in the past 15 days, raising the lake amount from 35percent to 85%.
Both smaller lakes which are located in town limitation –Tulsi and Vihar–overflowing since last month and among the remaining –Modak Sagar (Lower Vaitarna) overflows on Tuesday.
There’ll be just 10% water cut from town from Friday, and BMC could withdraw that also after sea amount crosses 90 percent. Officials said that it’s raining from the catchment regions of the five lakes located outside the town limit and they’re hoping that lakes will probably get needed water stocks within the upcoming few days.
