Bandra MLA assists 26/11 Mumbai attack watch with capital to tide over lease emergency | Mumbai News


MUMBAI: Congress MLA in Bandra East, Zeeshan Siddique, on Sunday presented a cheque of Rs 50,000 into Devika Rotawan, the youngest witness at the 26/11 Mumbai terrorist attacks case, towards her home rent after she sought assistance clear her impending arrears.

Zeeshan stated,”I read about her fears of being evicted from her home at Bandra East on Twitter. Devika was a prime witness in the 26/11 trial, and she resides in Subhash Nagar that falls within my constituency. Therefore I felt a particular responsibility. I visited her home and paid off her Rs 50,000 that will look after her lease for five to six weeks. I also have asked the CM to take her a home under a special quota in recognition of her bravery. You will find similar precedents that the country can follow”
The 21-year old woman who studies from Chetna College has set her sights on fulfilling Zeeshan’s dad, former MLA Baba Siddique, in addition to actors Salman Khan and Akshay Kumar, to press for further financial aid. Devika has also filed an appeal in court looking for a home from the authorities”on humanitarian grounds”.
Devika stated,”MLA Zeeshan Siddique is the first politician in 12 decades to see my home and ask after our wellbeing. He awakened with my dad, me and brother personally for 30 moments and gave us a sympathetic hearing. His instant assistance can help us remain in this home for a couple more months”
She asserts her father is not able to work for a living because of some medical condition.
Devika was the person who had recognized Pakistani terrorist Ajmal Kasab in courtroom. She confirmed it was he who took her as she waited for a train to Pune in CSMT railroad station with her dad and a brother. She had been nine years old once the attack befell in 2008.
