Karwar: Together monsoon intensifying in coastal Karnataka, the danger of landslides is looming large. A household of some fisherman in Khandyali at Keravadi village of Karwar taluk is spending sleepless nights since the mountain supporting their home is gradually slipping.
Fisherman Rama Pagi possesses the part of property on the banks of Kali river, in which he along with his family are residing since yesteryear 34 years. 1 side the land has been eroded from the river and the hill on the opposite side is gradually giving in.

The family members stated that although the nodal officer and nearby PDO visited their home after receiving their criticism, no compensation was awarded to them. They urged the government to provide them a bit of property in a safer location to construct a home.
But, local earnings officials said the government, after last year’s flooding, had attracted a strategy to change the households living on the Kali bank into a safer location along with Rama Pagi’s household can also be contained inside. The course of action is in progress, ” the officials stated.
Local people alleged blasting at the quarries is your most important reason for this landslides. They’ve urged the authorities to stop beating in quarries or some other development work.
