Coastal districts list 279 new situations, eight deaths | Mangaluru News


Mangaluru: Coastal areas of Dakshina Kannada and Udupi listed 279 new instances of Covid-19 on Monday. Even though Dakshina Kannada district listed 153 instances to determine its entire positive instances go up to 6 months,168, Udupi accounted for the rest 126 which required the district tally to 4,800. Even though 124 patients have been discharged in DK on Monday, the district contains 3,138 busy scenarios.
Covid-19 related deaths continued unabated from the 2 districts with eight deaths reported in DK and Udupi on Monday. While seven expired in DK, Udupi reported one death. For this, the passing tally of DK climbed to 176 and 36 at Udupi. While two,812 patients have been discharged in Udupi so much, the district has 1,952 busy scenarios.
Out of 153 positive instances in Dakshina Kannada, 119 were reported in Mangaluru taluk. Meanwhile, the Bantwal reported 11 instances, Belthangady six, Puttur four, a from Sullia and 12 from different districts.

Meanwhile, in a related development, Dakshina Kannada Mahila Congress president Shalet Pinto, that was also a part of KPCC chief DK Shivakumar’s programme on Friday, held a’raksha bandhan’ bash at District Congress Committee office on Monday violating the self-quarantine standard.
Shalet was sitting alongside former MLC Ivan D’Souza, who’s tested positive, through a press conference addressed by Shivakumar in the Congress office on Friday and she was also a part of other celebration programmes of KPCC chief. D’Souza and his spouse had tested positive for coronavirus and also the prior MLC had confirmed the exact same at a Facebook article on Saturday.
The health division in Dakshina Kannada district has asked Congress leaders, who engaged in DK Shivakumar’s programme as well as journalists who covered the press conference to stay in home quarantine after D’Souza tested positive for Covid-19. But, Shalet maintained a programme by linking a rakhi to District Youth Congress president Mithun Rai on Monday.
District health and family welfare officer Dr Ramachandra Bairy stated according to established protocols, any man that has been connected with someone testing positive for the virus to get over 15-minutes and with no mask will be deemed main contact.
