Ludhiana stands 34 one of 47 at Swachh Survekshan | Ludhiana News

Ludhiana: The industrial city was rated 34 in the national level Swachhta Survekshan-2020. The results were declared on Thursday by a digital platform. This standing is from 47 cities with a population from 10 to 40 lakh. In Punjab, just Ludhiana and Amritsar were contesting in this class and the industrial city is at 34th position while Amritsar rated 39.
This time the standards to judge the towns at the survekshan has been altered since it had been completed on a quarterly basis. The towns have been split into sections on the basis of people. From the first quarter that the town was 40th position whilst in the second quarter it had been judged at 38th rank from those 47 cities.
While in the first years the contest was one of several cities as from the very first year it was one of 50 cities and slowly the amount of towns increased. The officials claimed it wasn’t justified to position a town with a population of 50,together with the other with a population of 10 lakh. Thus, it was a fantastic thing that towns have been judged on the basis of people. The concept is to promote sanitation workers to work hard and involve men and women in maintaining hygienic conditions within their town.
While responding over standing, cabinet minister Bharat Bhushan Ashu stated,”Although the standing has increased as compared to past years but extent of advancement is obviously there. We will need to work harder to attain first place in the nation.” He said there has been a necessity to focus on cleanliness of town streets, appropriate lifting of garbage in the whole town, double change of sweepers in town, etc.. Ashu stated they could attain targets and this season that the workers should work harder to get better position.
Meanwhile, the mayor Balkar Sandhu though revealed satisfaction within the standing and gave attention to the sanitation officials and employees who had been involved in making structures, but he promised they ought to be aiming to have a better standing. He explained they’d want their standing to be one of the best 10 towns today.
The secretary of MC, Neeraj Jainsaid it might encourage the residents to work more difficult in the various fields and they’d have the ability to attain far better rankings from the survekshan of 2021.
