PRAYAGRAJ: In a move to contain the spread of novel coronavirus (Covid-19) at the country, 90 medical groups will be roped into a five-day sero-survey at Prayagraj and Kaushambi districts from Friday.
The health division has identified 45 spots all those two districts to the poll.
Included in this program, the groups would accumulate swab and blood samples of 32 inhabitants — 16 men and 16 girls — from all of the 45 areas. Aside from a quick antigen and blood tests, the participants’ blood samples would also be analyzed for detection of hepatitis B and C.
The health division groups will gather 1,440 samples each from the districts.
Additional manager (health) Dr Sudhakar Pandey stated,”According to the directives of the state authorities, we’ve chalked out a strategy for its seroprevalence survey in Prayagraj and Kaushambi to evaluate the level of spread of their Covid-19 along with the resistance against it from the area.”
Pandey stated that 90 medical teams are constituted to conduct this poll. “Each of those groups would include a health officer, auxiliary nurse midwife, licensed societal wellbeing activist (ASHA), a laboratory technician and a laboratory helper,” he added.
Officials said the sero-survey utilizes serology tests to spot those who have developed antibodies against an infectious illness. The presence of antibodies in blood suggests an immune response to the disease. The antibody test results are particularly important for discovering any preceding infections in people who didn’t go through the typical symptoms.
In August, the state authorities had declare sero-survey in 11 districts — Kanpur, Varanasi, Prayagraj, Kaushambi, Gorakhpur, Agra, Baghpat, Moradabad, Ghaziabad, Lucknow and Meerut.
