KOLKATA: Any individual was apprehended following a big quantity of prohibited cough syrup have been seized from his possession close to the Indo-Bangla boundary, in West Bengal‘s North 24 Parganas district from patrolling Border Security Force jawans, an official said.
In a second raid, the border guards seized 2 kg of ganja in Rangiapota near the global boundary in Nadia district on Saturday.
Seven cows were seized during patrolling throughout the span of Saturday-Sunday morning, a BSF South Bengal frontier statement stated.
On Saturday, BSF jawans of Hakimpur outpost at Swarupnagar apprehended an auto-rickshaw driver going towards the boundary following intercepting the three-wheeler.
Entirely 276 Phensedyl bottles, value Rs 46,834, were recovered during the raid.
The automobile driver has been apprehended and handed over to the police.
Until this date in the current calendar year, BSF employees of South Bengal Frontier rescued 3,048 cows, captured 1,69,312 bottles of Phensedyl and 1,487. 52 kg of ganja if those were being smuggled to Bangladesh, ” the announcement said.
