KOLKATA: Widespread violence has been reported in Khanakul region of Arambagh at Hooghly district on Saturday following struggle between Trinamool and BJP supporters, that resulted in the passing of a BJP worker. BJP has given a bandh call in khanakul place on Sunday to protest violence made by Trinamool.
The BJP employee was assaulted with a sharp weapon whilst hoisting flag because the employees of both parties clashed. BJP employees claimed that Trinamool guys attacked them with no reason and murdered Sudip Prananik.
Shortly after the news of the killing spread, the BJP employees went to ransacking Trinamool celebration office and ruined a martyrs column. Subsequently the BJP employees set on fire a wooden bridge, that joins Khanakul region. Many other homes were ransacked and set ablaze. A strong police officer was submitted but because the wooden bridge had been burnt, they faced difficulty in attaining the place.
BJP MP Soumitra Khan headed a demonstration sit-in demonstration and required a suitable probe.
A Trinamool spokesman said the authorities was probing the murder. It may be a handiwork of BJP infighting, he added.
