Sikkim Lockdown News: Sikkim to stay under total lockdown from July 21 to 27 | Kolkata News


GANGTOK: The Sikkim authorities on Monday decided to impose a complete lockdown from the country by July 21 on July 27 in light of the recent explosion in Covid-19 instances, officials explained.
The decision to enforce the lockdown was obtained after reviewing guidelines for the management of this Covid-19 scenario from the nation, a notification issued by chief secretary S C Gupta stated.
There will be complete lockdown from Sikkim from 6am on July 21 to 6am on July 27, it stated.
Government offices, stores, commercial establishments, institutions, factories and markets will remain shut except where a particular exemption is granted, the notification said.
Additionally, it stated that all actions, congregations, movement of goods and people, passenger vehicles will stay illegal or restricted except for exemptions given by government.
Educational, instruction and training institutions will stay closed until August 31 second, it stated.
District magistrates will issue requests for enforcement of nighttime curfew from seven. 30pm to 6am about the lockdown times to limit and regulate movement of vehicles and people and to guarantee compliance with existing standards of social distancing, people hygiene and application of Arogya Setu application, according to the notification.
Sikkim has reported 283 positive instances in just two weeks. The first case was reported May 23.
You will find 193 active circumstances, while 90 individuals have recovered from the illness, officials explained.
