KOLKATA: nobody knows the worth of meals such as them. They’re from divergent professions, combined with their enthusiasm for food. Calcutta Food Club (CFC) was created from the common passion. CFC members chose to contribute liberally for distribution of meals to sex workers of Sonagachhi, the biggest red light district of this city, when they discovered how badly struck they had been following the outbreak of coronavirus.
The sex workers were left in the lurch since the pandemic broke out, their earnings chocked entirely as people stopped coming into them. Earnings ceased, but the costs didn’t. Like any of us, they needed to conduct their loved ones, feed the kids and pay their own rent. They had no other abilities, which might have seen them during this dark period and day.
Regrettably, unlike the rest of the society, barring a small number of individuals and associations who’d been operating for the improvement of the own lives, the underbelly of the town stays from bound of their benevolence the other parts of the society are being benefitted from. In grief they’re outcast, ” said Chandan Gupta of CFC.
CFC, a charitable trust, in affiliation with Durbar Mahila Samanwaya Committee, a NGO committed to the enhancement of the lives of sex workers, came forward to stand by the sex workers of Sonagachhi.
Calcutta Foodies Club (CFC) started its journey 2014, as a social media group by a tiny group of food fans. The team always managed to get a chord in the minds of food fans and steadily climbed and gained fame through recent years. Now the team has over Two Lakh Forty Thousand members. CFC was enrolled as a charitable trust at the year 2019 and since the business was regularly undertaking a variety of initiatives to contribute to the society. Beyond meals, the motto was also to nourish.
The job at Sonagachhi was conceived by the concept of reaching a part of the society that is otherwise failed. Like everyone else that they are a part of their society and deserve a much better life. As a society we must grow above discrimination and ensure equality in every thing such as wellbeing. The attempt could be modest but as organizations CFC wanted to select the measure in the ideal direction.
