KOLKATA: A 23-year old effeminate guy has lodged a complaint earlier Bidhannagar police commissioner alleging he had been tortured and harassed by cops in civil clothing external Town Centre II shopping mall and has been forced to spend a night in the Narayanpur police station last Monday where he claimed he had been molested, beaten up and mistreated through the night by cops.
Acting on the guy’s complaint, cops have begun an enquiry into the situation. “We’ve begun an enquiry to learn what had happened precisely,” said a senior officer of Bidhannagar Commissionerate.
Still another officer nonetheless said few days before, Narayanpur authorities had broken a sexual racket comprising women and crossdressers and which was the reason that the youth had been stopped for questioning to discover if he had some involvement with the gang. The officer said he had no advice when cops had attacked the childhood.
Based on the complaint, the youth stated on July 20, he had been walking back home from a friend’s home around 9pm when he had been halted by a group of policemen in civil clothing close to the shopping mall along with the cops supposedly started abusing him. “I’m utilised to taunts from society and so I resisted which angered the guys and a few of them slapped me. The other man held me by my hair and began pulling me towards his or her bicycle. Since they weren’t in uniform I thought they are goons. I cried for help and if people came hurrying, the guys explained I was a burglar,” stated the last year political science student.
The cops then supposedly called for a police jeep and took him into the police station, where he maintained he had been further abused. “Within the jeep I had been touched inappropriately within my private components and was a joke . In the police stationthey began the next round of sexual abuse involving pushing rod to my back, asking when I’ve manhood and when I have breast feeding. I could not feel that it was occurring to me 2020 that also in Kolkata,” the youth said.
The childhood farther wrote in his criticism that cops had his telephone, assessed his personal photos and mistreated him “homo and chhakka”. The youth stated, the
dreaded night came to a conclusion following a family friend attained the police station in the afternoon and he had been only let go about noon.
“As a law abiding and joyful Indian, that takes pride in his individuality, from the constitution, at the Supreme Court and at the disciplined Police Force, I can’t remain silent because I did nothing wrong. Rather I’ve been wronged. Given that I recommend you to research, identify and punish all these folks and give me justice,” the childhood wrote in his criticism.
Several sex right bodies criticised the episode and held online demonstrations looking for justice for the youth. “Based on Trans Persons Protection behave 2020 harassing one according to their sex behaviour is a criminal offence payable to imprisonment. Based on what the youth has stated it’s a severe offence produced by a part of authorities.
