KOLKATA: BJP workers clashed with authorities in certain sections of West Bengal on Wednesday over observing the groundbreaking ceremony of a Ram temple in Ayodhya, amid a entire lockdown in the nation, officials explained. Clashes were reported by Kharagpur in West Midnapore district, Narayanpur in North 24 Parganas, and Alipurduar city in north Bengal, Amongst Others.
A procession by BJP workers to indicate the afternoon was stopped by authorities in Kharagpur, resulting in a scuffle.
“When they had been stopped from moving ahead with the march, a scuffle broke out between police and BJP activists. Several BJP employees are detained,” a senior police officer said.
Some policemen were injured in the incident, ” he explained.
At Alipurduar city, BJP workers were ceased by means of a’bhoomi poojan’ because of the entire lockdown, resulting in a tense situation.
BJP employees also attempted to organise a’yagna’ in Narayanpur region but had been stopped by some natives. Authorities said they needed to use”force” to spread the crowd.
“The BJP was attempting to disturb the peace in the region but sailors stopped them” neighborhood Trinamool Congress pioneer Tapas Chatterjee said.
Condition BJP president Dilip Ghosh, who organised a’bhoomi poojan’ in his New Town home, ” said the crackdown by authorities reflects the”anti-Hindu mindset” of their state authorities.
“We had been asking over the past couple of times to alter the date of this entire lockdown but it wasn’t done. After devotees of lord Ram desired to celebrate the day in a little way in Bengal, they had been stopped by authorities. The TMC government has intentionally ignored the sentiments of the Hindus from the nation,” he explained.
Hitting back, senior Trinamool Congress MP Saugata Roy reported the allegations are baseless.
“There isn’t any harm in parties however, the lockdown was clamped because of Covid-19. We all ought to honor that and stick by it,” he explained.
Vishwa Hindu Parishad (VHP) and BJP workers in Kolkata also celebrated the beginning of the building of the Ram temple. Rituals were stored in regions like Baghbazar and Burrabazar.
The morning puja was held in the Ram temple at the central region of the city.
Several state BJP leaders ordered puja in their houses to mark the occassion.
Rituals were organised by BJP and right-wing outfits at a lot of different areas of the nation and they moved off peacefully. A’yagna’ was organised by BJP workers in Rajganj at the Jalpaiguri district.
In several locations, Trinamool Congress employees also organised’Ram puja’ to indicate the day.
