KOLKATA: The division seat of Justice Joymalya Bagchi and Justice Suvra Ghosh on Tuesday granted anticipatory bond into Upendra Pradhan in relation with a situation flanked by authorities after charges of attempting to incite 1 community against the other. The division bench on Tuesday requested Pradhan to provide a bond of Rs 10,000, together with two sureties of the identical amount each.
Pradhan, editor at large of a popular internet portalsite, was charged under section 505 of this IPC after he published an article in a popular Internet portal. “He was continuously charged by law enforcement and the allegations are baseless. The police hadn’t disclosed the details which constitute an offence under section 505 of this IPC. In addition, the FIR was registered very overdue,” stated Ananad Bhandari, the attorney of Pradhan.
The situation goes back to January, 2020 when an FIR was lodged against Pradhan within the report. Current at the courtroom, authorities advises Niloy Chakraborty and Biswarup Roy compared the bail plea.
