STF tracked Janak’s location with his cellphone

Kanpur: The main accused in the hooch tragedies at Kanpur and Kanpur Dehat districts in 2018 and 2019, that claimed as many as 24 lifestyles, was detained by the Special Task Force (STF) at Phafoond region of Auraiya district on Monday.
The accused, Janak Singh alias Chotey Parihar, is a native of Biruhali village beneath Ajitmal police station in Auraiya district.
“He had been wanted in connection with two instances of hooch tragedies at Sachendi, Saadh region of Ghatampur and Kanpur Dehat districts in 2018 and 2019, that claimed lives of as many as 24 individuals,” explained Inspector Kotwali Satyadeo Sharma.
After registering the situations, the police had started an investigation and detained several suspects, however, Janak continued to flee arrest.
Through analysis, it surfaced that Janak had provided methyl alcohol into hooch producers and has been absconding since the episodes.
“STF tracked Janak’s place using his cell phone. Police has announced that the reward of Rs 25,000 on Parihar,” explained Inspector STF Pankaj Mishra.
Authorities said that the defendant has directed the authorities to spot a number additional key people involved with the production and supply of spurious liquor, for example, supply chain of methanol (methyl alcohol), which resulted in the deaths from the area.
Incidentally, methanol or methyl alcohol poisoning continues to be behind the majority of the hooch tragedies in the area.
