Last absconding aide of gangster Vikas detained | Kanpur News


Kanpur: Ramu Bajpai, the final absconding aide of gangster Vikas Dubey who had been carrying a reward of Rs 50,000 and had been about the run since July 2 and 3 night, was detained by STF and district authorities in Chaubeypur region of this district on Monday.
Superintendent of authorities (Rural) Brajesh Srivastava said,”Bajpai is your final accused of Bikru ambush and contains a benefit of Rs 50,000 on his mind. He was desired under divisions 147, 148, 149, 302, 307, 394, 120 b, seven CLA Act and 3/25 Arms Act with respect to Bikru shootout on July 2 & 3 nighttime.”
“Authorities have regained a. 315 bore gun and capsules from Ramu’s possession. He had been detained from Baba Quan region in Chaubeypur,” SP added.
Until date, six offenders such as Vikas have been gunned down, while over 26 detained have been arrested and sent to prison. Seven others have surrendered prior to court.
SSP Preetinder Singh advised TOI who Ramu Bajpai is a cousin of Shyamu Bajpai, who’d been hurt and detained following a police experience a day or two back. “Ramu was a close aide of the murdered gangster Vikas, also has confessed to murdering policemen by spraying bullets from the roof-top of a home on the night of July 3 & 2 at Bikru village,” he further added.
To remember, eight policemen, such as DSP Devendra Mishra, were ambushed in Bikru village at Chaubeypur region of Kanpur if they were planning to detain Dubey and dropped bullets fired from rooftops soon after midnight on July 3 & 2.
Dubey was killed in an encounter in the afternoon of July 10 if a police car carrying him from Ujjain into Kanpur met with an injury and he strove to escape in the place in Bhauti place in Sachendi, the authorities had stated.
Ahead of Dubey’s experience, five of his alleged associates were killed in separate encounters with the authorities.
