Kanpur: Rajaikant, Ajaikant and Shobhit, the 3 brothers of murdered gangster Vikas Dubey’ financier Jaikant Bajpai, surrendered prior to the Gangster Court on Friday.
The authorities had reserved Jaikant alongside his brothers Shobhit (24), Rajaikant (39) and Ajaikant (45) under Section 3 (1 ) ) of Uttar Pradesh Gangster Act on July 31 and because the trio were supposedly absconding.
The three on Friday surrendered prior to the particular judge, Gangster Court in relation to the gangster case lodged at Nazirabad police station of town on July 31, police sources said. They were sent to Chaubeypur temporary prison in judicial custody. Their attorney Devendra Dwivedi told the press that the court, however, dismissed an application for an interim bond transferred by the 3 brothers.
“They’d given their program concerning their surrender in the courtroom on Thursday,” Dwivedi added.
Jaikant, who’d supposedly provided gangster Vikas 25 capsules and money worth Rs two lakh on July 2, and attempted to ease his escape, was detained together with one of his own aide Prashant Shukla alias Dabbu on overdue July 20 night.
The district authorities afterwards declared a reward of Rs 25,000 on each one of the three absconding brothers. A case was filed against them under the Gangster Act in Nazirabad police channel.
The authorities had conducted raids in Jaikant’s Harshnagar home seeking his three brothers on August 16, but needed to reunite as three were discovered to be absconding.
Before, the police had seized three luxury vehicles — Audi, Fortuner and Verna — left by Jaikant along with his aides in Kakadeo’s Vijay Nagar region. The vehicles were used to ferry Vikas along with his group members to their secure hideouts.
But, as a result of extensive checking and patrolling from the authorities, the SUVs were left near Vijay Nagar crossing on July 4.
