BARMER/JAIPUR: Five childhood, including three sisters, drowned in separate events in Rajasthan, police said on Monday.
Three members of a family — two brothers and a sister — drowned in a pond at Barmer on Monday.
The episode happened in Prahladpura village at Sheo police station region at which both brothers were taking a bath in the pond and also slid into deep water. Their sister jumped into the pond to save them all of them drowned, SHO Vikram Sandu explained.
The dead had been identified as Ranaram (15), Jasaram (13) and Guddi (18). The bodies have been handed over to the relatives following a post-mortem, he added.
Back in Ajmer, two buddies who had been returning home by a temple drowned in a pond where their bike slipped on Sunday night in Madanganj region.
The sufferers identified as Somu (26) and Pradeep Singh (25) were coming home to Madanganj in the temple see when they dropped to the pond together with the bicycle late on Sunday night.
A rescue operation had been launched and they had been pulled out after a time. They had been rushed to a hospital where doctors declared them attracted dead, authorities said.
Following the post-mortem on Monday, the bodies have been handed over to their own family .
