JAIPUR: The nation’s very first record museum on the assumptions of Rajasthan State Archives Bikaner (RSAB) will be inaugurated by chief minister Ashok Gehlot on August 20, stated RSAB manager Mahendra Khadgawat.
dispersed across 10, 000 square-feet and constructed at a cost of Rs 4. 12 crore, the museum includes a group of farmans (imperial decree issued by emperor), copper plates, nishans (issued from the royal household ), patta (land records) and lawful decrees of erstwhile 107 princely states involving two from present-day Pakistan and Afghanistan.
A total of 3,000 historic posts are kept on display in the museum. Khadgawat, who had been in Jaipur on Monday, told TOI that the nation has approved ticket prices for its museum.
The state-of-the art museum is split into eight classes — file gallery, Chattrapati Shivaji Maharaj Gallery, aluminum plates gallery, Maharana Pratap Gallery, exhibit gallery and Dr LP Peffitorie gallery, conservation gallery and country freedom fighters gallery. Two more developments –cartography along with an auditorium — will develop at another stage.
Archival documents are inscribed onto the termite-free walls. “A distinctive sort of compound was used to guarantee that it stays termite-free for 3 decades. Then, another coating is going to be required. Additionally, there’s a limitation to the amount of people in a day because all these initial documents are preserved under controlled environment and are sensitive to CO2 and oxygen,” said the manager.
The memorial has received an expression of alliance or interest on sharing historical documents from the University of Pennsylvania (USA), British Library (London), University of Exeter (London), IIT-Kharagpur, CEPT University (Ahmedabad).
“As a Indian adult, the ticket speed is Rs 50, while for a student it’s Rs 10. And to get a foreign national that the ticket speed is Rs 100 and to get a foreign national pupil the ticket speed is Rs 50,” said the manager.
