KOTA: At a joint operation with Madhya Pradesh authorities , Baran district authorities on Friday rescued a 10-year old boy who had been abducted from his home at Kherkhedabura village beneath Bapcha police channel of Baran, also detained the kidnapper. The boy had been abducted late on Monday night along with the kidnapper had left a ransom call demanding Rs 5 lakh for his safe release.
The kidnapper is a history-sheeter with 27 criminal cases against him in police stations in MP.
Talking at a media conference in Chabda police station on Saturday, Baran SP Ravi Sabharwal said the mastermind of the inter-state gang, also identified as Shivraj Singh Meena (50), a resident of Kumbhraj police station region of Guna district at MP, has been nabbed from his native area and also the abducted boy, Rameshwar Lodha, was also rescued in sound health.
Two other accused, who’d held the boy captive at a deserted location and so were guarding himfled when the police team reached the place.
The boy had been abducted from his home at Kherkhedabura village at intervening night of Monday and Tuesday this week while he had been playing with his dad’s phone, the SP said including the key accused another day (Wednesday) known as the boy’s neighbor and demanded ransom of Rs 5 lakh for the boy’s safe return.
Taking a serious note of the topic, five police groups containing cops from seven police stations of the district headed by ASP Vijay Swarnkar under the oversight of DIG were participated in the procedure to follow and rescue the boy safely, ” he added.
