JAIPUR: The Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) on Wednesday detained a director of National Thermal Power Corporation (NTPC) for allegedly accepting a bribe of Rs 1 lakh at Jodhpur. A case was filed against detained Om Prakash in Phalodi city under Section 7 of Prevention of Corruption Act, 1988 (as Amended at 2018) on Thursday.
“It had been alleged that the accused demanded a bribe of Rs ,50,000 in the complainant for smooth operation of work concerning cleanup of solar plant in Bhadla, Phalodi district at Jodhpur. Following the complaint was confirmed, a trap was set by us,” said a senior officer of CBI.
It had been determined that the accused could take a bribe of Rs 1 lakh as initial instalment as was agreed between the criticism and him.
CBI laid the snare and captured the accused red-handed whilst taking a bribe of Rs 1 lakh as instalment.
“Searches were conducted in the premises of detained in Phalodi and Bhilwara (Rajasthan) that resulted in recovery of incriminating files,” said the officer.
The accused could be produced at the court of particular Judge, CBI instances, Jodhpur on Thursday.
