JAIPUR: The district viewed yet another bout of locust attack in 4 villages – Harnathapura, Sanga ka Bas, Kanarpura and Ghinoi – to Sunday. This is the 24th attack at the district as May 20. The operations lasted from 2am to 8am on Monday morning.
District’s agriculture division and locust warning firm (LWO) completed operations to get rid of the swarms on early Monday morning. The groups began the surgeries throughout the intervening night of June 21-22 when they obtained info regarding the locust strikes in those villages.
“The four localtions comprise Harnathapura, which can be in Jhotwara; Sanga ka bas (Hingonia), Kanarpura and Ghinoi at Chomu. We commanded the locusts utilizing over 150 litres of pesticides – lemda silthrin (5 percent ) and chloropyriphos,” stated B R Karwa, deputy manager, agriculture zila parishad (expansion ).
In an attempt to control locust assault and fight the catastrophe in Jaipur, the government is conducting training sessions to its block-level officers by specialists in the area (entomologists) in June 15. The training programs began from Jothwara, Sanganer and Shahpura on June 15 and will last until June 24. On June 23, instruction session will be held in Amber and Paota and about June 24 at Dudu.
