Jaipur gets initial fleet of bicycle ambulances | Jaipur News


JAIPUR: Strengthening ambulance providers, the state government has established bicycle ambulance (First Responder Vehicle) providers from town on Wednesday. A private firm has supplied five bicycle ambulances into the health area below the Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) initiative.
Health minister Dr Raghu Sharma flagged off bicycle ambulances out of his residence.
The health division handed across the bicycle ambulances to chief health officer (CMHO) Jaipur-I that will subject an emergency amount where the destitute patient will phone to avail the service.
Sharma stated,”We’ve planned to establish the bicycle ambulance services not just in Jaipur, but also in Jodhpur and Ajmer. The districts are chosen as they’ve old city place where the lanes are narrow and a standard size ambulance is hard to enter. These motorbike ambulances are smaller in size and will move easily in these narrow lanes,” said Sharma.
The health department will offer training to its chosen nursing staff who’ll ride the bicycle ambulance and transfer the individual .
National Health Mission Director Naresh Thakral stated these bicycle ambulances are equipped with ultramodern facilities like a first aid box, oxygen with flow meter, humidifier mask, fireproof gear, foldable hood and three-tone siren along with the price of every automobile is roughly Rs 1. 70 lakh.
From the country, 701 ambulances are operating under 108 ambulance providers, 587 are 104 Janani Express and 74 are foundation ambulances. The fleet of ambulances are conducted by a private company roped from the state authorities. However, the bicycle ambulances will be conducted by chief health officer.
