GUWAHATI: A total of 103 individuals have expired and 56,71,018 individuals from 5,305 villages are affected by the flooding in Assam, a flooding report by the Assam State Disaster Management Authority (ASDMA) said on Tuesday.
“So far, a total of 30 districts are affected in the country so much and 129 earnings circles have already been changed. 56,71,018 individuals from 5,305 villages have felt the direct effects of the flooding. A total of 103 individuals have lost their lives to the flooding,” that the ASDMA report stated.
It further said,”Currently am on Tuesday, the Brahmaputra river was flowing over the prescribed hazard degree at Neamatighat (Jorhat), Tezpur (Sonitpur), Goalpara (Goalpara), Dhubri (Dhubri), Dhansiri (S) in Numaligarh (Golaghat), Jia Bharali in NT Road Crossing (Sonitpur), Kopili in Dharamtul (Nagaon), Beki at Road Bridge (Barpeta) and Kushiyara in Karimganj (Karimganj).”
“The country has setup 615 relief camps and 1,53,919 individuals are being placed. A total of 384 ships are set up and 81,109 individuals are rescued,” it added.
Meanwhile, the chief minister Sarbananda Sonowal took to twitter to notify the general public about the measures being taken to tackle the flooding situation in the nation.
“The Buroi river has caused severe erosion in a variety of elements of Biswanath district. We’re taking all measures to attack the circumstance. We took inventory of damage & repair functions at Lal Pukhuri of all Behali LAC,” that he tweeted, tagging ministers Ranjit Dutta, Keshab Mahanta and member of parliament Pallab Lochan Das.
