GURUGRAM: A fund company executive riding a Harley Davidson into Noida expired on Sunday morning after being struck by an MUV who had crashed to the divider and toppled on another carriageway to collide with the bicycle close Cyber City.
Police are probing if the MUV has been pushed with a minor. Two youths were within the car and they, also, were hurt from the injury . The biker, Alok Gupta (49), died during treatment in a hospital.
Gupta, a resident of Sector 57, had left home about 6am combined with a couple friends, who had been on other bicycles. They’d only taken the Golf Course Road into Noida when the MUV, coming in the Shankar Chowk side, crashed on the bicycle.
Civil builder Rajesh Khangwal was on a different motorcycle just 100 metres supporting Gupta as soon as the incident occurred. “The car was speeding along with the motorist had no control on it. It crashed to the divider, turned on another carriageway and collided with the Harley. The biker suffered significant injuries,” explained Khangwal. He phoned the police and an ambulance and took the wounded to a nearby hospital.
Khangwal said the youths that were at the car seemed to be in their teens. “The airbags of this automobile had opened, however, the doors have locked under the effect of the crash. With assistance from various other commuters, we brought the 2 youths and hurried into a hospital,” he added.
Gupta’s buddy Rahul Malik, an entrepreneur, was in a small distance. “The MUV flipped 4-5 days before hitting Gupta’s bicycle,” he explained. It had been Malik who lodged a police complaint.
A case was registered at DLF stage two police station under IPC sections 304 (accidental death) and 279 (rash driving). Until late Sunday evening, the authorities were yet to spot the youths from the MUV.
Aman Kumar, the station house officer (SHO) of DLF stage two police station, said Gupta’s body was handed over to his family following an autopsy. “The vehicle is enrolled in Faridabad. We’re attempting to recognize the driver,” that the SHO said.
